Overview of Apeda Registration

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is an executive body established in 1985 under an Act of Parliament to promote the export and development of designated agricultural products. APEDA supports exporters of these scheduled products by offering financial assistance, guidance, and regulatory information. Exporters intending to ship scheduled items must register with APEDA.

In addition to facilitating financial support for the growth of these products, APEDA provides recommendations and tracks the progress of these industries. Agriculture plays a vital role in India's economy, contributing significantly to both exports and industrial investment. The agricultural and processed food sectors are experiencing growth, largely due to the support of government initiatives.

The Indian government set up APEDA under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to oversee export promotion and development activities for these designated products.
